The Pokemon franchise has been on an incredible roll over the last several years, especially in the gaming space. They sold over 100 million units on the Nintendo Switch alone, and we know that more is coming because Pokemon Legends Z-A is heading to both the Switch and the Switch 2. Information hasn’t exactly been bursting forth, and yet, we got a big surprise today. That surprise was that the game’s release date was dropped, and it’ll arrive on both consoles on October 16th. To celebrate this, The Pokemon Company did two things. First, they released a special piece of art to honor the upcoming release:
#PokemonLegendsZA arrives October 16, 2025!
In addition to the #NintendoSwitch title, a #NintendoSwitch2 Edition will offer improved graphics and frame rates! The digital and physical versions of #PokemonLegendsZA can be upgraded to the #NintendoSwitch2 Edition via upgrade pack pic.twitter.com/DqAcfYPxiK

Second, they announced that a Pokemon Presents will drop on July 22nd. More than likely, this will give us new information on Pokemon Legends Z-A, while also updating us on previously announced entities like Pokemon Champions. Regardless, this is a big win for both the Switch and Switch 2, as this adds to their gaming rosters for 2025.
