As I noted on the most recent Nintendo Entertainment Podcast episode, Pokemon Legends Z-A will kick off an impressive stretch of exclusive titles for the Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The latest game from The Pokémon Company still has a lot of mystery around it regarding gameplay, storylines, and how certain online elements will work. But the company isn’t shying away from having fun trailers showing off more layers of what you’ll get to experience. For example, the latest trailer might be labeled “New Mega Evolutions,” but the first half of the trailer shows off much more than that.
The beginning of the trailer shows off your character actually arriving in the new version of Lumiose City, and then we get plenty of new clips of in-game battles both in regular form and via Alpha bouts with Mega Evolved Pokémon. Plus, we get new cutscenes featuring the many characters you’ll meet within, including something happening with Lumiose Tower that gets the attention of both an “old friend” and the mysterious dog form of Zygarde.
To be honest, it makes me very excited for the game. I truly loved the Arceus-focused spinoff when it came out a few years ago, and this new spin on the spinoff seems really intriguing.
You can watch the full trailer below and get Pokemon Legends Z-A on October 16th.
