Pokémon Presents was today, and it was a celebration of 30 years for the series. There were a lot of games discussed, such as the Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green adaptations on the Nintendo Switch, but the big standout was the newest mainline title, Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves.
If you thought Hoenn from Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire had too much water, welcome to Pokémon Winds and Waves. This has far more water from the looks of it. We are in a range of islands, but instead of a Hawaii-type region, like Pokémon Sun and Moon, this one seems to stem from islands around the Asian continent.
The big reveal in this trailer is that windmills appear to run at a solid 60 fps. The trailer focused on that windmill very specifically. If you played Pokémon Scarlet or Violet, you would understand that the windmill did not run at 60 FPS at launch.
The actual big reveal of the Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves trailer is that we got to see the new starter Pokémon for Generation 10. We have a water gecko aptly called Gecqua, a grass bird called Browt, and the one taking all the attention, a fire dog called Pombon.
Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves will be released for Nintendo Switch 2 in 2027.
