Last weekend, Sony decided to let everyone know about their upcoming move to full digital in 2028 for PlayStation games and rendering physical production of games ending by then. Ever since the announcement, nearly everyone has gone out of their way to let Sony know that this is a very bad idea. Fans, retailers, vendors – almost everybody. For the last while, Sony’s social media has been quiet since the announcement.
Today, Sony has broken their silence. However, it came with a reminder for something else.

On July 7th, the FlexStrike – Sony’s first party arcade stick got a explanation video instead. KC Tulchinsky of Sony – who is the Senior Technical Manager of the Entertainment division and Mark Julio of Evo decided to take the time to discuss the features of the FlexStrike.
Instead of the recent Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls situation of being locked out of 100+ countries due to a PlayStation ID requirement, they went with a technical ad about the peripheral that might be built because of the game itself. FlexStrike already has shots with the Arc System Works and Marvel Comics fighting game.
The FlexStrike will be launching on the same day as Marvel Tōkon, which feels ironic for PlayStation to do on their twitter account. Other tweets after this have yet to address the physicals issue directly, rendering retweets of other items such as upcoming games. Twitter was definitely not feeling it with some of the wildest reactions to the news.

We’ll eagerly await Sony’s response to this.
