After getting hands of Phantom Blade Zero well over year ago, the one question I’ve been asking the developer of the game, S-Game, is when the game is going to be released. Well, we’re going to closer to finding out that date as it has been revealed over on The Game Awards Twitter account that the release date will be revealed during the show.
For those who don’t know, Phantom Blade Zero is a cinematic wuxia action RPG coming to PlayStation 5 and PC, set in a dark kung-fu punk world filled with intense, high-speed combat. Some players have called it a Soulslike, but S-Game has clarified that it is an action-driven experience inspired by Ninja Gaiden and Devil May Cry. The title has been in development for quite some time for the PS5 and PC. There hasn’t been any official confirmation regarding an Xbox version at this time.
After going hands-on with the game during Summer Game Fest, I agree completely. It carries hints of Soulslike design, but the core of the game is all action. I have been waiting to play it in my own home, and we will finally know when that chance is coming.
We’ll find out next week, when the 2025 The Game Awards takes place on December 11, 2025.
