Paramount+ Highlights Black Voices; Expands Peak Romance Collection

By Josh PiedraFebruary 7, 2024

Paramount+ is highlighting two new collections this month in celebration of both Black History Month and Valentine’s Day. Both the Black Voices collection and Peak Romance collection are available for streaming on their network and Paramount+ wants you to check out each collection for great shows and content within each!

BLACK VOICES

The expanded collection launched on February 1 (Check it out HERE) and features a broad array of films, TV series, docs, comedy specials and more. The centerpiece carousel of this year’s collection, “Based on a True Story” will spotlight critically acclaimed films and series including Selma, Lawmen: Bass Reeves, Red Tails, 12 Years a Slave, Lee Daniels’ The Butler, Lincoln, Freedom Writers, Dreamgirls, and more.

Other notable titles from across this year’s range of carousels (including “Celebrate Women,” “Most Memorable Laughs,” “For the Family,” and more) include: Save the Last Dance, Mr. Malcolm’s List, Last Holiday, Love & Basketball, Detroiters, Bob Hearts Abishola, Harlem Nights, and more. For Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, titles also include Fences, The Chi, Dreaming Whilst Black, and more.

Premiering this month on Paramount+ and joining the Black Voices Collection, the new documentary Becoming King is an intimate portrait of actor David Oyelowo’s journey to play legendary civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. in Selma.
Additionally, the Black Voices Collection ad spot features a commissioned original song titled “On The Rise” by Roc Nation rapper and BET Amplified Artist, HDBeenDope.

PEAK ROMANCE

The expanded collection will include four brand new carousels featuring even more of the best in romance content: “Flings & Things,” “Queer Romance,” “Happy Galentine’s Day,” and “Bromances.” Notable films coming to the service include all three Bridget Jones films, Friends with Benefits, Like Water for Chocolate, Jersey Girl, and more. Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers will also be able to stream Celine Song’s newly Oscar-nominated film Past Lives.

These new additions will join fan favorites like She’s The Man, Everything Everywhere All at Once, How to Lose A Guy in 10 Days, Bound, Love & Basketball, Paramount+ Original Love in Taipei, and classics like Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Pretty in Pink, and Dirty Dancing (Showtime), which are currently streaming on the service.
