Visionary Realms has announced that the upcoming MMORPG, Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen, has secured a new multimillion-dollar funding for the game. The funding aims to accelerate the launch of the game’s 1.0 version by increasing staffing and offering more polish and robust tuning to the current game.
Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is a mix of old school and new school. Its roots are firmly planted in the gaming style of EverQuest, which focuses on group-based combat, meaningful exploration, and old-school features (or lack thereof) such as no mini-map, no quest hubs, and having to talk to NPCs and read quest text to learn the lore and the game’s objectives. It incorporates new modern features such as a climbing system, adding verticality to the world, wild animal taming and training to serve as its mount system, and more.
In addition to the funding, they also announced the promotion of David “Nephele” Beach to Project Manager. Nephele is a crafting enthusiast and was brought on board to share his expertise to help craft Pantheon’s crafting system; however, it was revealed that Nephele had spent the better part of two decades leading teams and projects at Microsoft, qualifying him for the role.
