While I write a lot of things here for The Outerhaven, one thing I honestly should write more about is my love of comics. I read Marvel and DC Comics every week, with the occasional book from other publishers or indie creators. That being said, if I were to pick my favorite thing going on in comics right now, it’s the “Absolute” line from DC Comics. All the books are truly fresh takes on iconic characters, and they have all-star teams behind them, including Scott Snyder on the Absolute Batman book. And now, Absolute Catwoman is entering the fray.
Technically speaking, she made her arrival in Absolute Batman #12, with her having a big presence in issue #13 that dropped on Wednesday. However, at New York Comic Con, Scott Snyder and others were on hand to announce that Selina Kyle will have her own 6-issue miniseries next year:
Absolute Catwoman.Che Grayson. @bengalart.bsky.social. Six issues coming in 2026.

Just as important, though, is that those at the panel detailed her arc, and Absolute Catwoman won’t exactly be what you think:
More details on the Absolute Catwoman series!
•Che Grayson had pitched her origin and about doing this difficult heist. And the run will have new characters, they can't reveal now.
•Nick Dragotta confirmed her helmet is an A.I. Orb.
•We'll see new things about her suit and… https://t.co/UOaNCLB6a9 pic.twitter.com/jBKFJglONp— DCU Updates (@dcuworld) October 10, 2025
Her relationship with Bruce (since they met as kids) has been a key part of Absolute Batman, so it’ll be interesting to see how things develop further via the mini-series. As someone who truly appreciates this line (and would love to write in this particular universe myself…), I look forward to future announcements and seeing what other miniseries and ongoing in the Absolute line drop.
