Nvidia announces their newest GPU’s GTX 980 and GTX 970, on sale now

By Keith MitchellSeptember 19, 2014

Last night during Nvidia’s 24 hour PC gaming event, GAME 24, Nvidia announced both the GTX 980 and GTX 970. Running off their newest architecture dubbed “Maxwell”, the GTX 980 and GTX 970 will benefit from a lower power consumption which means a higher overclocking ceiling, 2x the power of their previous “Kepler” GPU’s. and the addition of a new anti-aliasing technology called “MFAA” or multi-frame sampled anti-aliasing which Nvidia has claimed will offer a performance boost over “MSAA” or multisample anti-aliasing.

Of course various sites have reviewed and benchmarked the new cards and you can check those out below;

Currently both the GTX 980 and GTX 970 are on sale at various locations and will cost you between $329.00 – $339.00 for the GTX 970 and $550 and up for the GTX 980. Right now Amazon, Newegg and Microcenter are selling the card but most look to be out of stock already. Luckily I got mine, the GTX 970 at least. I’ll let you know how it performs at a later date.
