Nintendo Will Return To Gamescom This Year

They're back! And they have something to show!

Nintendo Confirms No Use of Generative AI for First-Party Games, Gamecom

Right now, Nintendo is focused on the upcoming launch of the Switch 2. However, soon, the console will be launched, and the only thing that’ll matter then is continuing to make great games that everyone will want to play, and to keep advertising the system so that people will buy it. To that end, a unique announcement was made over on Twitter by the company’s German account. They announced that The Big N will officially be returning to Gamescom this year!

The post itself reads: “Mark it in red on your calendar – Nintendo will be back at Gamescom in 2025. We look forward to welcoming you from August 20 to 24 in Cologne.”

Rot im Kalender anstreichen: Nintendo ist 2025 wieder auf der @gamescom. Wir freuen uns, euch vom 20. bis 24. August in Köln begrüßen zu dürfen! pic.twitter.com/8B3ibgOyBu

A simple yet important declaration, especially since the company was absent last year for obvious reasons.

Why show up this time? First, the Switch 2 will be just two months old at that point, and they’ll want the international audience to see what’s coming for it and get their hands on the system itself. Second, given that the event has become more of a “showcase” in recent years, it’s possible we could get a big gaming announcement at the show’s opening premiere. Finally, it’ll be another avenue to highlight what the Switch 2 can do and why people should get it.

So, if you’re near Gamescom in August, you might want to check it out for yourself!
