During the Nintedo Switch 2 Direct, Nintendo finally revealed the specs for the Nintendo 2, along with a release date of June 5th, 2025. **Update** Nintendo sent us an email regarding the price of the Nintendo Switch 2, and it will be priced at $450! Pre-orders for the Nintendo switch 2 will go live as of April 9th, 2025.

While Nintendo was forthcoming with the specs, what it has shown is a leap from the original Switch. With remarkable hardware enhancements and thrilling new features, this next-generation Nintendo console is poised to redefine the gaming experience.

Here’s what the Nintendo Switch 2 is packing!

  • 7.9-inch LCD screen, offering 1080p resolution, HDR support, and a 120Hz refresh rate. These upgrades promise smoother, more vibrant visuals.
  • Dual USB-C ports for expanded charging and peripheral options. Plus, when docked, the Switch 2 will upscale to 4K resolution at 60 fps. Likely via DLSS, and maybe possibly Frame Generation.
  • 256GB of internal memory to accommodate more games and apps without the hassle of juggling space.
  • Larger Joy-Con 2’s with a magnetic attachment system, a new “C” button that provides swift access to chat menus in Game Chat calls, and a mouse mode adds versatility for compatible titles.
  • New Switch 2 Pro controller also gets access to the “C” button, a built-in headphone jack.
  • Backward compatibility ensures you can still enjoy your favorite Nintendo Switch games, both physical and digital, although some titles might have limited functionality due to hardware differences.
