Today is a special day for Nintendo Switch 2 fans, as today starts the true “final countdown” until the console’s launch. It’ll drop in just one week, and that means that we’re gearing up for an incredibly busy season no matter how you look at it. Unsurprisingly, people have been “celebrating” this by posting pictures and videos showcasing the Switch 2 and its games being in stores already. That’s not a bad thing, per se, as they’re just showing that the stores are stocking up and getting ready for release.
However, there are also those who have somehow gotten their hands on a Nintendo Switch 2 and are posting videos about them, including trying to get them to work so they can play games. Hint: you can’t just yet. Anyway, over on the Kit & Krysta podcast, the two former Nintendo employees talked about all the leaks and then gave a warning to those who have been doing them…
“I recall something like this happened with the original Switch. We were within a week or so of the system coming out, and there was big video of some guy who had it…, and it was like code red to find out what happened. The interesting thing, though, is [Nintendo] can get pretty precise, with like finding where this is, who this is, and what store it came from. It was actually really surprising for me…Like again, these things can get scanned and identified.”
In other words, you better beware, because the “Nintendo Ninjas” are after you, and they have no problem dropping the hammer on you. It’s been proven in the past, so it’s best you just keep your head down and just wait for the system and its games to arrive so that they can be enjoyed properly…and without legal action.
