Nintendo Drops Opening Cinematic Sequence For Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

Time to save the day, Samus!

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond
You have no idea how long I've waited for this!

While we may not know too many exclusives that are coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 in 2025, we do know that there are two games that’ll have dual releases on the Switch/Switch 2 when they debut. One is Pokémon Legends Z-A, and the other is Metroid Prime 4 Beyond! The latter title has been shown off both in trailers and in a Nintendo Treehouse Live event that happened after the Switch 2 reveal. That being said, some of the stuff from that treehouse may have been lost in the shuffle if you weren’t there to watch it.

Thankfully, Nintendo fixed that via the “Nintendo Today” app by dropping the full intro sequence to Metroid Prime 4 Beyond. In it, we see the Galactic Federation getting hit hard by space pirates, and Samus has to come in to help even the odds. The footage below is from the Switch 2 Edition for the game, and most accounts agree that the Switch 2 version is the one you should buy the game on.

Nintendo released Switch 2 Edition footage of Metroid Prime 4 on Nintendo Today. This was previously only shown during Treehouse Live.

The game does look cool, and it’s one that’ll bring back the Prime series to hopefully its full glory when it releases later this year.
