If there was one thing Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse gave the world, it was a ton of fun and memorable characters. And none was as hilarious and memorable as the black-and-white webslinger known as Spider-Noir. Thankfully, we get to see a whole lot more of him in the new Prime series. Best of all? He’s still played by chaos-incarnate Nicolas Cage.
The story follows Ben Reilly, who lives in a black-and-white version of 1930s New York. A down-on-his-luck detective, Reilly was once the masked vigilante known as The Spider. However, after a personal tragedy, he quit the superhero game. But after a case comes calling that Reilly can’t ignore, he dons the mask and takes to the streets once more as the city’s one and only hero.
The show will be in live-action and was developed by Oren Uziel, Steve Lightfoot, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal. In the trailer, we see a few key story points, such as Reilly’s version of the spideysense and a look at his origin story being explored. We even get a peek at some of the potential antagonists, like Silvermane and what could be Sandman. And yes, we get to see Nic Cage bring some of his signature charm to this slightly off-kilter private detective.
Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li and Karen Rodriguez also appear in their roles as supporting characters, all of whom get embroiled in the mystery alongside Reilly. There are also a whole bunch of guest stars, including Abraham Popoola, Jack Huston, Brendan Gleeson, Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Cary Christopher, Michael Kostroff, Scott MacArthur, Joe Massingill, Whitney Rice, Amanda Schull, Andrew Caldwell, Amy Aquino, Andrew Robinson, and Kai Caster.
Spider-Noir swings onto Prime on May 27, 2026.
