Ever since the Nintendo Switch 2 launched back in June, the question has always been, “How much will it sell?” The answer was over 3.5 million in a few days, just under 6 million in a month, and the numbers keep going up with each week that passes. The only problem with the console right now, aside from certain “haters,” is that the console is selling out so fast that various countries, including the United States and Japan, can’t keep up with the demand. Thankfully, things might be getting fixed soon.
In a new report from Bloomberg, their sources are telling them that Nintendo wants to have about 25 million Switch 2 units available by the end of March 2026. That date is important, as that’s the end of the fiscal year. Many expect the console to sell well over 15 million units by that point, but The Big N is clearly trying to “stock up” to ensure it can both meet demand before that point and when big games start dropping after it.
Whether they’ll be able to accomplish that is another matter entirely, especially with certain political events (see: Tariffs) affecting countries in which the console is sometimes made. Another key thing for the company is to ensure that gamers have a reason to get the console, including continuing to produce high-quality content.
