It was announced that Neon Genesis Evangelion is receiving a brand-new anime series. The announcement was made during the 30th anniversary event.
Much to people’s surprise, Yoko Taro is signed on to write the script for the series, rather than Hideaki Anno. For those who don’t know, Yoko Taro was responsible for the highly popular NieR gaming series.
Longtime Evangelion director, Kazuya Tsurumaki, is returning to direct the new series, while Toko Yatabe is attached to help direct. Keiichi Okabe will be on hand to produce the series’ music.
The anime will be produced by a joint effort between CloverWorks and Khara.
