Metroid Prime 4 Tops Amazon’s Switch 2 Pre-Order List

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond
You have no idea how long I've waited for this!

It may be hard to process, but it’s only been two full days since the Nintendo Direct dropped, giving us plenty of information about what we’ll be able to get on the Nintendo Switch 2 in the next few months and beyond. One of the key pieces of info was that Metroid Prime 4 Beyond has finally gotten a release date of December 4th, 2025. Many are excited to get that game due to it being a “missing link” of sorts, and hoping that Retro Studios can deliver what they did previously on the GameCube and Wii. If you want proof that things are going well for it, you need only look at Amazon.

On its “best-selling Switch 2 game” list, four of them are pre-orders, with Metroid Prime 4 topping the list. Then, there’s Final Fantasy VII Integrade, Donkey Kong Bananza (which likely got a surge because of the DLC that just released), Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, and Hades II.

So, what does this matter? Simply put, this gives us a gauge on where fans are right now with what they want for the Switch 2, and what they’re hoping to get on Day 1 or close to it. The fact that a 3rd party title, let alone one that originally released in 2020, is No.2 on this list is impressive.

No matter how the list breaks down, though, the Switch 2 has plenty of titles to look forward to in quick succession once Pokémon Legends Z-A drops in October.
