Mecha BREAK Ask Me Anything Reveals Potential Plans, New Mechs, Maps

By Kevin KellyJune 17, 2025

With Mecha Break’s arrival incoming as fast as it is, there will be some changes to the game to differentiate it from its previous renditions. Executive Producer and avid Mech / Mobile Suit enthusiast Kris Kwok got a chance to review some of the most exciting things from Amazing Seasun Games’ Mecha Break.

In the full game, there is going to be a way to skip the tutorial content as well as unlock all mechs right at the beginning. Rookie mode will still have this available, while Veteran mode will skip the starter stuff, which can be viewed later. Mech animations – as badass as they are – can also be skipped and viewed later.

Credits are gone, which will be replaced by Mission Tokens.

The mod system will only affect Mashmak mode now. Mods will no longer affect 3 vs 3 or 6 vs 6 modes. The progression system has also changed. Weapons are now available to be used the moment they are acquired. However, downed mechs can be looted, which will cause a user to lose weapons acquired here. Mashmak now has a combat readiness cap per level to prevent bullying of lower ranks. Once the cap is achieved, players will be moved to the next level. It seems as though there are three levels of difficulty – normal, hard, and extreme. If a finishing move is done on a mech, all mods are dropped in Extreme mode. Normal will allow a 30% chance of a drop on one mod.

Again, Mashmak is the PVPVE mode of Mecha Break, so there is potential in crossing both enemies and rival Strikers on the battlefield. We enjoyed our time with it back in the last beta. Kwok also took on how to build certain features, such as the gliders, which will also be gone if destroyed within Mashmak.

Hanger bridge control was also on display. Players can also control it. Other areas were fleshed out outside of the cockpit, including the mech area, weapon collection area, a combat readiness bay, and a medical bay. Multiple Pilots can be created for free and swapped. There will be 4 floors to explore within the base.

More story content will also be fleshed out to world build, so to speak. Kwok believes that expanding the Hangar Bay will solve the issue that many Competitive Shooters struggle with – single-player-esque content to make the game’s lore real. Overwatch always comes to mind as one that held a lot of potential in this realm.

New maps have been seen with the moon and underwater being battle settings. Two new Strikers will be coming, also. Stelleris – the slice and dice mecha, and Serenith, the support Striker.

June 23rd will be the next session, which will cover more of the newer features that are coming to the July 1st launch build. New Strikers, bosses, maps, and more will be explained by Kwok on this day.
