Marvel Tōkon Fighting Souls has had a ride since its debut earlier this year. The Marvel tag fighter that Arc System Works built is revving up to deliver an experience that only the Guilty Gear producers can provide through their knowledge of vibrant Unreal Engine usage.

While the energy started with a bang, the game announcements for Tokon seemed to fizzle out strangely. The Game Awards was definitely missed by the team with nothing to show for it to keep the momentum going post the second beta.
The original 8 characters do not have any other members joining yet, from the look of things. While the presence around different majors and conventions were there, the opportunities to shine were not in these ends.
However, Takeshi Yamanaka, producer of the game, addresses this through his year-end message via Twitter/X.
Dear Tokon Fighters,
This is Takeshi Yamanaka, Producer of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. Thank you so much to all the players who participated in our second Closed Beta Test.
We also truly appreciate the many heartfelt messages submitted through the survey. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
We haven’t yet finished reading through every comment, but we are sincerely taking in all of the feedback — both the positives and the areas that need improvement. The team is pushing forward with development, and we will continue refining and improving the game based on the opinions you’ve shared with us.
2026 will be a big year for us! Our whole team is working hard to make this a game that you will enjoy for years to come, a title that will continue to grow with its community.
We still have more characters to announce, along with more exciting moments where you’ll be able to see the game in action. Stay tuned!
Happy Holidays!
Yamananka has alot of fighting game credits to his name for Arc System Works fighting game titles, so it’s best to trust him for this. Marvel Tōkon has confirmed that seeing characters within the background does not stop them from being added to the game. Storm, for instance, can be seen within the X-Mansion yet is on the roster.
Still, we’ll see what the future holds for Marvel Tōkon.
