Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls Closed Beta Coming to PS5 This September

By Keith MitchellAugust 3, 2025
Marvel Tokon Fighting Souls beta reveal

If you’ve been keeping up with the fighting game community lately, you’ve probably noticed the buzz surrounding Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls, the upcoming fighter from Arc System Works and Marvel Games. With EVO USA 2025 happening this weekend, gameplay footage has been flooding YouTube, fueling even more excitement. But on Sunday, we got some major news.

Ahead of the Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves top 8, it was revealed that a Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls closed beta will take place September 5–7, 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5. The beta will feature six playable characters: Dr. Doom, Captain America, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, and Storm.

The sign-ups to register for the Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls are now live. To do so, head over to the official PlayStation store page, scroll down to the bottom, and follow the directions.  You’ll need an active PlayStation Network account to participate.

As expected, big news was coming for the EVO USA 2025 weekend, and this beta announcement delivered. So, even if you couldn’t attend the biggest fighting game event in North America, in just two months, you’ll be (hopefully) able to play this next big Marvel fighting game.

Personally, I haven’t been this excited about a fighting game in a long time. Am I hyped? Just a bit.

Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls is scheduled to launch in 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam.
