Marvel Rivals Adds Zombie PVE Mode in Time for Halloween

By Keith MitchellOctober 17, 2025

NetEast Games team-based first-person shooter, Marvel Rivals, has managed to capture the attention of both first-person shooter fans and those who are deeply connected to the Marvel comic books and cinematic universe. While the game is traditionally a PvP affair, the newly announced Zombie Mode will have players taking on swarms of the undead, because of course, it had to be zombies. This event will start on Octob 23, 2025, for all platforms.

This new limited-time event was announced during Gamescom Asia and the Thailand Game Show which takes place from October 16 – October 19, 2025, and will tie in with Disney Plus’s upcoming four-episode mini-series, Marvel Zombies.

This Zombies Mode, however, will be a bit limited in terms of character selection, as only Thor, Blade, Magik, Jeff, and The Punisher will be available to choose from. Meanwhile, scores of zombies will stand in your way as you fight to take on Namor and the Queen of the Dead, and if you haven’t seen the mini-series yet, I’m not going to spoil who that is.

I would have liked to see more characters added to the lineup, especially Spidey, but hey, this is still pretty cool and looks like a lot of fun. Maybe we’ll see more of these PvE limited-time events for other holidays down the road.

Of course, since this is just a Halloween event, it’ll disappear once the spooky season ends. So, if you enjoy Marvel’s Rivals or simply love mowing down zombies, now’s the perfect time to jump in and see why the game has become so popular. It’s free, so you’ve got nothing to lose.

And if you haven’t seen the Marvel Zombies mini-series yet, even if you’re not a Disney Plus fan, you definitely need to check it out.
