Dotemu and Tribute Games have officially announced that Marvel Cosmic Invasion will launch on December 1, 2025, for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch and PC (Steam). The latest gameplay trailer not only confirms the release date but also introduces two new heroes joining the fight, Phoenix and Invincible Iron Man.
You can catch their explosive debut in the new trailer here.
Fiery telekinetic abilities meet jet powered ingenuity as Jean Grey, now as Phoenix, unleashes devastating telekinetic power to crush Annihilus forces, while Tony Stark takes to the skies as Iron Man, blasting through enemies with his repulsors and the powerful Iron Cannon… yes, not Proto Cannon, since that was a name that Capcom and Marvel came up with, so it can’t be used here.
And yes, if this isn’t new news to many of you, it’s because those two were also data mined/leaked from the demo, that was available on Steam. While it stinks that took out of the wind of the announcement, at least we get to see the finished product.
With the addition of the two new and final characters to the roster for now, this rings t
- Phoenix
- Iron Man
- Captain America
- She Hulk
- Rocket Raccoon
- Wolverine
- Spider Man
- Storm
- Phyla Vell
- Venom
- Nova
- Black Panther
- Beta Ray Bill
- Cosmic Ghost Rider
- Silver Surfer
That is fifteen playable heroes in total, each with their own moves, combos, and special attacks. Whether you are blasting through enemies as Storm and Silver Surfer or smashing foes with Wolverine and She Hulk, every pairing feels unique thanks to the game’s tight mechanics and fluid transitions.
The Outerhaven went hands on with Marvel Cosmic Invasion during Summer Game Fest 2025, and while it was a short time with the game, we were than happy with what we played. Then, the demo came, and well, let’s just say that the hype is real. Marvel Cosmic Invasion delivers the same satisfying combat that made Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Shredder’s Revenge a hit, only now it is expanded to the cosmic scale of Marvel’s universe. Tribute Games’ pixel art style perfectly captures that old school arcade feel while still being sharp and modern.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion also supports up to four player drop in and drop out co-op both locally and online with crossplay. Accessibility options make it easy for anyone to jump in and start fighting, making it perfect for both veteran brawler fans and younger Marvel players.
Lastly, if you were paying attention, Marvel Cosmic Invasion also will feature alternative outfits. Don’t think we didn’t see you sneak in Storm where her old-school X-Men outfit, Cap rocking the USA Agent suit, Superior Iron Man, Cosmic Ghost Rider’s and more, throughout that trailer.
We definitely saw that.
Marvel Cosmic Invasion looks like the next great beat ’em up to watch for it lands this December 1, 2025.
