Mario Paint Arrives On Nintendo Switch Online!

By Todd BlackJuly 29, 2025
Mario Paint, Nintendo Switch Online

While we’re waiting for certain Nintendo Switch 2 news to hit (give us a Direct, Nintendo!), The Big N is providing gamers with some pieces of news that might entice them. For example, the latest game to hit Nintendo Switch Online has come, and it’s the one and only Mario Paint. This SNES title was one of the more unique entries in Mario’s extensive gaming history, and yet, it has a following even now. So, if you want to see how your “art skills have progressed over the years,” the game is available right now for you to enjoy!

Oh, and it’s also on Nintendo Music via its soundtrack, and you can listen to those right now, too! As for Mario Paint, the video below breaks the game and all its modes down pretty well:

One of the ironies here is that on the Nintendo Entertainment Podcast, I’ve suggested a sequel to this game getting made, and the Nintendo Switch Online version uses one of the ideas I suggested via using the new Joy-Con 2’s mouse functionality to make painting even better. We’ll see if the company goes for a “second coat of paint” in the future while we enjoy the original now.
