The Story

Peril strikes the apartment as Imaizumi’s mother makes an unexpected visit! Ruri gets whisked away from the balcony while Yukina and Reina hide in the closet. They are so busy hiding their traces that Imaizumi’s mother gets impatient and just lets herself in, figuring that she will just wait for him there until he returns. She soon discovers that he was home this entire time and begins her inspection of his apartment. Luckily, Ruri circled back and pretended to return Imaizumi’s gym clothes. She introduces herself to his mother, and this gives her the impression that Ruri and her son are close. She wants to give them some alone time, so she scoots.

Next up, they decide to take a break and go out for karaoke and ramen. Once this little side adventure is over, the Idol Research Club decides to deal with a bit of a pest that has been hanging around Imaizumi’s apartment, snapping photos, and hoping to get some dirt on Reina thanks to her relationship with her scandalous brother.

One crisis gets averted, and soon they land themselves into another. The landlord is evicting Imaizumi due to urban development! Luckily, Ruri is resourceful and has a solution; however, there is a little bit of a problem. The new place that she offered up is right next door to Reina’s sister Lisa! When they meet, they know straight away that it’s going to be trouble, especially when Lisa wants to join their little harem. They formulate a plan; however, as soon as they realize what must be done, they also realize they are in violation of their plan before it could even begin!

Characters

Imaizumi is still lacking confidence. In fact, there is a moment where is slips on a manhole cover (of all things), and gets ridiculed by some passers-by. He thinks that he’s too pathetic to hang out with the girls, but they give him a stern reminder that they don’t care what other people think. They only care what they think, and they like hanging out with Imaizumi, even if they kind of use him for sex, a place to stay, and not much of anything else. Despite that, you can feel the camaraderie between them continuing to grow, so hopefully, that will give Imaizumi that much-needed courage that he has been missing, even if it will take a bit for him to develop it.

We have a new character in Lisa Hamazai, sister to Reina. With Reina being a model and her brother being a singer, it’s easy to tell that she’s the black sheep of the family. She’s always going out drinking, going to mixers, and things like that. The gang realizes that she loves her alcohol, but when she drinks, she gets a certain way. This is why they come up with the plan to keep alcohol away from her as much as possible… and to never leave Imaizumi home alone. Well, that plan failed, and we get to see just what kind of a drunk Lisa is!

Final Thoughts

Another entertaining volume! Upgrading their place to stay was a bit of a surprise, but with the air conditioner breaking (and never getting fixed), getting evicted was quite the blessing in disguise. Plus, with Ruri having a lot of money and connections, it made finding a new place trivial… especially when the condo is owned by her father. She was able to talk her father into letting Imaizumi rent one for less than what he was paying at his previous place. In fact, she also did the same for Lisa, making her rent dirt cheap, too. I guess when you have money like that, you can take a loss or two. Must be nice!

Now that Lisa is in the picture, things are about to get even more interesting for Imaizumi. It also makes you wonder how much more this harem is going to grow! Plus, with the addition of the Idol Research Club and their level of protection, Imaizumi is practically the equivalent of a mob boss right now. Beautiful girls living with him, sex on demand, high-level protection, high-level connections, and yet, he’s innocent enough not to take advantage of any of it.

Ruri was right. Imaizumi’s lack of manliness is a strength of his because it makes him too kind. Maybe for his own good! Nevertheless, this was another surprisingly great volume. Given the *ahem* alternative version that’s out there, this is surprising me more and more with each volume. It’s low-key becoming a series I look forward to each time!
