Manga Planet announced today that they are ceasing the operation of its digital platform effective at the end of March 2026. In the statement released via social media, they stated that the closure is only to the digital side of their business and they will continue to focus on print licenses and print releases through their Manga Planet label and their futekiya imprint.
They laid out a timeline of events as follows:
- October 31, 2025: Points, 3, 6, and 12-month passes will no longer be available for purchase
- February 28, 2026: 1-week and 1-month passes will no longer be available for purchase
- March 31, 2026: Manga Planet’s digital platform will close
- Late April 2026: Support for Manga Planet pass refunds will end
They also stated the following regarding refunds:
- Points and content will not be refunded
- Manga Planet Passes will be refunded for the amount extending past the closure date. Pass Holders eligible for a refund will be contacted separately before the closure date
The reason cited for the closure of the digital platform is increasing difficulties and restrictions from payment processors and the changing online landscape.
