Maebashi Witches Full TV Opening Available Ahead of April Premiere

By Josh PiedraMarch 24, 2025

Maebashi Witches is an upcoming original TV anime produced by Sunrise Studio of Bandai Namco Filmworks, known for titles such as Mobile Suit Gundam and Love Live! The full-length version of its opening theme, “Sugosugi Maebashi Witches!”, is now available for streaming.

Maebashi Witches

Performed by the Maebashi Witches, a five-member voice actor idol group portraying the anime’s main characters, the song features lyrics by Tsunku♂, composition by TORIENA, and arrangement by Yuki Kishida.

Blending the classic sound of the Japanese idol scene with infectious refrains, powerful kicks, and deep bass, this track is also a perfect fit for anime club playlists. Don’t miss it!

The creators have offered comments about the song’s release:

Lyrics: Tsunku♂

I think everyone has childhood memories of playing flower fortune-telling—plucking petals one by one, eagerly anticipating the final answer. Even with only two possible outcomes, it always felt exciting.

With that theme in mind, I wove the cast members’ names and various types of flowers into the melody to create this song. Writing the lyrics felt like solving a complex jigsaw puzzle—I was so immersed that time just flew by.

The protagonists are adorable, and with a story full of youthful passion and a sense of achievement, I’m really looking forward to watching the show.

Composition: TORIENA

I composed this song with the hope that each member of the Maebashi Witches would shine brightly. I think it’s a lively and adorable track. Super amazing Maebashi Witches!

Arrangement: Yuki Kishida

Congratulations on the full-length release! First and foremost, I’m truly honored to have been part of this project. I still remember how excited I was when I first received the demo—it was already amazing. As I worked on it, I kept thinking about how I could contribute to make it even better. My goal was to create a sound that you’d want to hear anywhere—on TV, through your phone, or even in a club. I hope people enjoy it in all kinds of places!
