Looking for a cheap but powerful video card? Nvidia has you covered.

By Keith MitchellAugust 20, 2012

So, you’re looking for a new video card, and both of the high performers, namely the Nvidia GTX 680, Nvidia GTX 680 & AMD Radeon 7970 are out of your price range, what do you do?? Well, if you’re a PC gamer on a budget, you look for something in your price range, and I think Nvidia has just what you’re looking for.

Introducing the Nvidia GTX 660 Ti, which is based off the Kelper, the very same chipset that powers the GTX 680 and GTX 690, at the fraction of the price. Retailing around $299.99, this puts the card right under both mentioned cards but still provides plenty of power as initial reviews show that it’s still above the AMD 7950 and at fraction of power (wattage) usage.

Also as an added bonus, there are versions of the GTX 660 Ti that come bundled with a FREE copy of Borderlands 2. Gotta say, that’s a nice deal especially when the owners of the GTX 680 (like me!!) didn’t get anything with their cards. Not to mention that you’ll be able to run the “A New Dawn” tech demo that Nvidia put out out this past June.

The Nvidia GTX 660 Ti is available at retailer near you or online at sites such as Newegg.com, Tigerdirect and others. Oh right, you probably want to see some reviews on this card. Well, that’s not my department – so I’ll refer you to some sites that I know and trust, they’ll take care of that for you.
