Bandai Namco has finally dropped the release date for Little Nightmares III, so mark your calendar for October 10, 2025. This one’s coming to just about everything: PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PC, and both the Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, although Switch pre-orders will come at a later date.
This entry marks a big shift for the franchise, as Little Nightmares III is being developed by Supermassive Games, the folks behind Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures Anthology. They’re taking over from Tarsier Studios, the original creators of Little Nightmares I and II, who’ve moved on to other projects. So far, it looks like the series is in solid hands.
We had a chance to go hands-on with the game during PAX West 2024. It was just a small slice, but what we played had all the eerie charm and unsettling tension you’d expect. From the atmosphere to the twisted creature designs, it felt right at home in the Little Nightmares universe, and we’re excited to see the full picture.
In Little Nightmares III, you’ll control Low and Alone, two kids stuck in the Spiral—a creepy world warped by delusion. One of the main areas shown off in the latest trailer is the Carnevale, a run-down, haunted fairground that’s equal parts fascinating and freaky. You can check out the new trailer here and the gameplay deep dive, below.

Wrapping up the showcase, Bandai Namco also announced Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, a brand-new VR experience being developed by Iconik Studio. No date yet, but if you’re down for spooky VR, this one’s worth keeping tabs on.
And in case you’re wondering how big Little Nightmares has become? The franchise just passed 20 million units sold since 2017. Not bad for a series that specializes in childhood nightmares and deeply unsettling vibes.
