While still at CES 2026, I made my way over to the Lenovo suite, which felt less like a traditional product showcase and more like a nightclub. There was food, drinks, music, and a crowd that was clearly having a good time. It had a vibe that made it easy to get distracted, but even with all that going on, nothing could top what Lenovo had tucked away in the back of the space.
That was where I found a concept laptop, called the Lenovo Pro Rollable, with a genuinely wild trick up its sleeve.

With the press of a button, the laptop’s display transformed from a standard 16:9 screen into a wider 21:9 format. Press it again, and it expanded even further to 24:9. As cool as that sounds, it still doesn’t fully capture how surreal it was to watch in person. I was standing right next to the device as it happened, and I still had trouble believing what I was seeing.
According to Louis, the Lenovo representative I spoke with, the concept was born out of a request from an esports team looking for more horizontal screen real estate without relying on an external monitor. That idea eventually evolved into this expandable OLED display, and once you see it in action, the reasoning behind it makes perfect sense.
This laptop is still very much a concept, and it’s far from being a finished product. There are technical hurdles to overcome, but what Lenovo has already achieved is impressive. The display itself is a flexible OLED panel that physically wraps and extends, and somehow manages to do so smoothly and convincingly.
The laptop also packs other attention-grabbing elements, such as hand gestures that will let you wave your hand to automatically change the screen size, and a configuration that includes an RTX 5090, though Lenovo was clear that the internal components are not final and are subject to change. Even so, what they’ve already demonstrated feels like a glimpse into a possible future rather than a far-off fantasy.
There’s no release date, and no guarantee this laptop will ever make it to market. Still, this was easily one of the most impressive things I saw at CES 2026. Lenovo pulled off something I didn’t think was realistically possible, and for a brief moment, made me wish I could walk out of that suite with the device under my arm.
