Today, during IGN Fan Fest, Warner Bros. Games & developer TT Games released a “Brand New” Trailer for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight that looks oddly familiar to Batman Fans. Recreating an iconic scene from the 1989 Batman movie, where The Joker and his men take over the Gotham Museum, turning it into his own personal art gallery. Reimagined in the classic LEGO style with Prince’s iconic song “Partyman” playing over the top.
While not being able to remember the original 1989 Scene & after a little research, this recreation is pretty good, while adding its own LEGO humor and also including some more recognizable art than the original, including the likes of The Scream and The Girl With The Pearl Earring. While some other bits are changed. One being a phrase change from “Joker Was Here” to “Jokes On You!” a now more classic saying by modern Jokers.
Concluding with The Batman and Catwoman descending into the museum with what looks to be the ending of a cutscene and the start of a level. This recreation, along with other releases, gives me strong hope that we will see one of the best LEGO/Batman games we have ever seen.
