Konami to Launch Konami Arcade Games Company in June

By Josh PiedraMay 17, 2025

Konami has announced that it intends to establish a new company called Konami Arcade Games next month on June 2. Konami looks to accomplish this by transferring a portion of its Konami Amusement subsidiary to this new company via an absorption-type split, which will take full effect on October 1.

While many may question this move due to arcades fizzling out, this is more so for the Japanese market, where arcades are still very popular, especially with pachinko and pachislot machines, which will be one of the new company’s major focuses.  They believe that the market environment for these machines is constantly changing, so this new company is to help them stay at the forefront of those market changes.

Katsunori Okita will continue to fulfill his role as Representative Director and President of Konami Amusement, while Yoshitaka Nishimura will become the Representative Director and President of Konami Arcade Games. Also known as DJ Yoshimura, he acts as a composer for Konami’s Bemani music video games division. His soon-to-be previous role is Executive Officer at Konami Amusement.
