Koei Tecmo Producer Praises Nintendo Switch 2 Abilities and Features

He thinks it's a powerful system with potentially revolutionary features.

We are now in the Nintendo Switch 2 era, and it’s going to be very interesting to see how everything goes down with it. We’re only a week in, and we’ve been hearing about both shocking sales numbers and getting announcements for Switch 2 exclusives. Leading up to the console’s launch, multiple developers came forward to talk about working on the platform and bringing their games to it. One such developer was Koei Tecmo, who have multiple games on the console already, and will have Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment release later this year.

In an interview with WCCFTech about one of their other titles on the Nintendo Switch 2, Wild Hearts S, Producer Takuto Edagawa was asked about how the console ranks against the other systems out there. He replied:

“There are a lot of characteristics when it comes to raw computing power so it’s difficult to generalize, but I think it can be thought as closer to the Series S.”

That’s high praise, and certain other games running well on the platform seem to back that up. Of course, it could just be their own personal experience with it, so take it how you will. Another thing that Edagawa was asked about was his favorite new feature on the system, and he felt it was the GameChat:

“I’d have to go with the chat feature. It’s become standard practice for hardcore gamers to use tools such as Discord to communicate while they play, but having this feature incorporated into the console allows more players to enjoy it as well. It might sound exaggerated, but I think this might have an impact on gaming culture as a whole.”

We’ve used it ourselves and found it quite fun, and it’s good that developers like Koei Tecmo are making the most of it, too.
