KANA-BOON’s latest track “SUPERNOVA,” the opening theme for the second cour of the TV anime Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, which begins airing on Thursday, July 10, is now available for streaming and download.
KANA-BOON, a Japanese rock band known for their dynamic sound and anime theme songs, has previously contributed to globally popular anime series. Their total global streams and YouTube views have each surpassed 500 million.
“SUPERNOVA” was specially written for the new cour of Dr.STONE SCIENCE FUTURE, and fans have eagerly awaited the release of its full version.
Regarding the song, KANA-BOON commented:
“We’re truly honored to perform the opening theme for Dr.STONE! Thanks to this opportunity, we’ve created a powerful track! ‘SUPERNOVA’ is a solid and aggressive song that perfectly matches the intensifying battles of Senku and his friends in this cour.”
The music video for “SUPERNOVA” was also released today
In this video, the band members take on the roles of scientists and adventurers who laid the foundation for human progress, delivering an aggressive performance that’s interwoven with rapid cutbacks depicting the history of humanity’s relentless pursuit of challenge.
This energetic music video celebrates the indomitable spirit of humankind—a theme shared by both the anime and the song. The collage-style CG animation unfolds rhythmically, making it a visual experience you won’t want to miss.
KANA-BOON also commented:
“SUPERNOVA” has transcended the boundaries of anime music to become KANA-BOON’s latest killer tune!
Imagination and creativity, these are essential to music—no, they go even deeper, touching the very core of human nature. That’s the theme we explored in this song: imagination. And with it comes endless trial and error. The energy of repeatedly challenging and turning imagination into reality is embedded in the music. Please give it a listen!
The music video is packed with a world view that takes the song further and wider, with visuals you’ll want to watch again and again! It’s a fantastic piece born from the director and production team’s incredible imagination. In the end, we go full SUPERNOVA mode, so be sure to watch it all the way through!”
Fans are encouraged to enjoy the music video alongside the creditless opening and ending sequences released after the anime broadcast.
