There’s no denying that Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters is one of the platform’s most successful animated films. From its stunning animation and fantastic voice acting to the infectious music created for the film, it’s a total package. I’ve heard several of its tracks—like Soda Pop and, of course, Golden—playing on the radio more than once while cruising down the highway.
So, I wasn’t surprised to see musicians EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, the singing voice trio behind Huntr/x who sang Golden, appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. What made the moment even cooler was that Jimmy himself surprised them with the news that the K-Pop Demon Hunters album and Golden had officially gone platinum on the Billboard charts. The look of pure shock and joy on their faces was priceless—and honestly, I couldn’t be happier for them.
And to make the night even better, the trio gave everyone a live performance of Golden, bringing all the energy and emotion fans have come to love from the film’s soundtrack.
Truth be told, I didn’t start watching K-Pop Demon Hunters until my wife sat down to check it out one evening—and I was hooked. It’s such a fun, heartfelt film that I’d recommend to just about anyone. Seriously, give it a watch—and if you can’t, at least listen to the soundtrack. You won’t regret it.
K-Pop Demon Hunters is currently streaming on Netflix.
