Idea Factory International Announces Ariana and the Elder Codex

Idea Factory International has been on a roll with publishing new game styles and new games. Compile Heart has also been joining up with different developers to help round out their library. This time it looks like they are once again at it with a brand new game titled Ariana and the Elder Codex.

It looks like we are going to be getting an action 2D side-scrolling platformer. The main character, Ariana Virellis, can use magic for offensive abilities. Ariana Virellis is on a mission to repair the Seven Hero Codices. There have been changes to the tome that have ruined the world by removing magic. By using her librarian powers, Ariana can enter these Codices and mend them back to how they were before.

Key Features
Restore the books, reclaim the magic — Venture into the Seven Hero Codices as Ariana, defeating enemies to earn new Magic Spells and Skills that grant access to previously unreachable areas. Restore Repair Points by taking on platforming and combat challenges that put your abilities to the test. Clear Repair Points as quickly as possible for permanent HP boosts and more!

Librarian Magic materializes — With 30+ unlockable Magic Spells and Skills, mix and match abilities across six slots as you embark on your journey to repair the altered Codices. Experiment with different combinations to discover what best suits your playstyle.

Clash with the guardians of the altered Codices — Face formidable bosses, each with a devastating arsenal that will test your combat and platforming skills. Dodge spells, time your attacks, and stay on top of your health to prevail.

Harness the power of Magic Items — Mitigate challenges by unlocking, crafting, and equipping Magic Items to boost stats and gain buffs such as elemental boosts, increased critical hits, reduced knockback, and more!

Ariana and the Elder Codex will be launching in North America and Europe physically and digitally for PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, and Nintendo Switch™ in 2026!
