How to Pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

By Chris PenwellFebruary 19, 2025
You can pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Learning how to pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is difficult as you need to be adept at stealth, learn the tricky UI, and be cautious of others in the surrounding area. It may be difficult to master at first, but as your main character progresses, it will become easier over time.

How to Pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

Stealing in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be difficult, even during the night. You’ll first have to sneak up to your victim by pressing the right analog stick, and then walk up behind them. Find a bag slung around their back and point your cursor towards it. Next, hold the cross or A button to start the process.  Make sure no one sees what you’re doing; otherwise, you’ll get caught red-handed, and they’ll start calling for the guards.

You’ll begin the stealing process, and a number appears on a circle. The more red it becomes, the more likely your victim will detect you. You may want to save before attempting to rob someone. The bigger the number, the more time you’ll have to steal objects from the person.

Once you stop holding the cross or A button, the second phase begins. A bigger circle appears with question marks all over. When you reveal what a question mark is with the cross button, it will show what the item is. However, this takes away time you have before the victim knows what you’re doing. You have to be quick and get the cursor all the way to the top (the door emblem) to get out of the stealing phase.

The second phase has you revealing the items in their bag in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If you manage to press the cross or A button in time at the door symbol, you’ll be able to pickpocket in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 without them even knowing. During the beginning of the game, you won’t be able to steal much if anything.

However, as you improve your skills and repeat the process, you’ll be able to improve the amount of time you have to steal in the first phase as the minimum amount of seconds to steal increases. Unfortunately, changing the time from day to night doesn’t seem to help much as guards require you to have a lantern on at all times.

Having trouble pickpocketing? Maybe you can steal from the dead instead.
