How to Obtain the Fell Omen Fetish Relic in Elden Ring Nightreign

By Keith MitchellMay 29, 2025

Before jumping into the world of Elden Ring Nightreign, you’ll begin in a small, instanced section of the game—a tutorial area designed to help you get a basic grasp of the core mechanics. By the end of this section, you’ll face off against Margit the Fell Omen. If you’ve played Elden Ring, you probably remember him.

You don’t need to defeat Margit to progress, and if he kills you twice, you’ll automatically transition into the main game. However, players who manage to defeat him during the tutorial will be rewarded with the Fell Omen Fetish, an epic blue relic to kickstart their collection.

    • Switching Weapons Boosts Attack Power
    • Improved Throwing Knife Damage
    • Vigor +1

Seems it would work well with the Duchess, Guardian, Raider or Wylder.  Elden Ring Nightreign - Tutorial Reward - Fell Omen Fetish -01

That said, it’s worth trying to beat Margit. And if you fail on your first attempt, don’t worry—you can retry the tutorial as many times as you’d like by visiting the Visual Codex within Roundtable Hold, then navigating to Guide.

Here are a few tips to help you bring down Margit the Fell Omen.

1. Loot Everything During the Tutorial

Before triggering the main tutorial sequence, be sure to collect all the loot in the initial area. You’ll find a stronger weapon—Lordsworn’s Fire Straight Sword, located in a chest, inside the hold you’ll pass through. It has a higher attack power than your starter gear and deals additional fire damage, giving you a crucial edge in combat. You’ll also find a Fire Bomb and a Warming Stone.

2. Revive the Duchess

Near the end of the tutorial, you’ll be introduced to the resurrection mechanic. Don’t skip this part! You’ll have the opportunity to revive a character known as the Duchess. She’s essential in the fight against Margit—she can tank damage, draw aggro, and give you time to land several heavy hits.  Do this enough and you’ll stagger him, allowing you to get a critical attack in.

3. Use Your Ultimate Attack Early

By the time you reach Margit, your ultimate attack will be charged. Use it early in the fight—the game will replenish it as part of a “here’s how this works” tutorial moment. These two will help you get the jump on Margit.

4. What Happens if You Die

If Margit defeats you, don’t panic. The Duchess will attempt to revive you. However, if you both fall, you’ll need to:

  • Return to Margit’s arena.
  • Recover your lost runes.
  • Head back to the Site of Grace you passed earlier.
  • Use the runes to level back up, since dying will down you a level.
  • Then make your way back to try again.

Keep in mind: the Duchess won’t respawn once defeated. So, ideally, the two of you will have done enough damage to make a rematch easier.

If not, consider restarting the tutorial and giving it another go.
