Grounded 2 has just been released, and it seems to be another successful launch for Obsidian. However, many players are struggling to find blueberry leather, a crucial material needed for tier two armor sets and Omni-Axe upgrades.
Blueberry leather is one of the most important materials, as it helps craft Ladybug armor, Northern armor sets, and various base structures. The tricky part is that blueberries don’t drop leather directly, which has left many players confused about the process.
Getting Blueberry Leather in Grounded 2
Don’t worry—we’ll walk you through exactly where to find blueberries and how to turn them into leather efficiently in this guide. There are two locations for gathering and crafting, with some being much better than others.
The best spot for finding blueberries is near the pond in the southeast corner of the map, close to the Ice Cream Truck. This area is packed with blueberry trees, giving you access to more berries than you’ll ever need. While you’ll be sent there during the mid-campaign when searching for ORC soldiers, you can also visit just for the berries.
Another location worth checking is the Picnic Table north of the starting area. If you climb to the top and look under the tablecloth, you’ll find some berries there. However, this spot has fewer berries and more Orb Weaver spiders, so the Ice Cream Truck area remains the better choice, but you’ll need a buggy to get there.
Once you find berries, knock them down with any weapon attack, then use your level 1 Omni-Tool axe to chop them into chunks. Each berry usually offers two or three chunks. After collecting, use one at a Ranger Station to unlock the crafting recipe.
Players have two options for crafting leather. One method uses a Workbench, where three chunks instantly become one piece of leather. The other involves building a Jerky Rack at your base, which takes several in-game hours but converts one chunk into one leather piece.
Since it’s not easy to find berries and the process to gather them is a bit long, it’s better to use the latter method, as it triples your result compared to the former.
Nonetheless, we hope you find this guide helpful and now know where to find berries and how to craft them.
