How to Find Acorns in Grounded 2

Where to Find Acorns in Grounded 2

Three years after the successful full release of Grounded, which became a massive hit for the developers, selling over 4 million copies on Steam alone, Obsidian Entertainment and Eidos-Montreal co-developed the sequel, Grounded 2, which was finally released last week.

This time, the developers have gone all out, expanding the game world from a backyard to an entire park. While acorns might seem like random junk scattered around, they are actually one of the most valuable resources in the game.

Acorn shells are essential for crafting armor, building base structures, and, along with acorn tops, creating advanced equipment. Fortunately, finding acorns in Grounded 2 isn’t difficult. Here are the best ways to locate them easily.

The prime locations to check are the southwest and northwest corners of the map, also known as The Entrance and Pine Hill. Both zones feature massive oak trees, which are the main source of acorns.

The Entrance is arguably the best place to hunt for acorns. They’re scattered all over the area, and all you need to do is walk around beneath the oak trees to spot them on the ground.

When gathering acorns, be sure to have a level 1 Omni-Tool Hammer with you. Unlike smaller resources, acorns need to be cracked open before you can collect them. Each acorn yields multiple acorn shells, and if you’re lucky, an acorn top may drop as well, though this is quite rare.

Keep in mind that these areas aren’t as safe as the game’s starting zones. The area is teeming with spiders, including the annoying Spiderlings and Orb Weaver Jrs. The further you venture toward the edge of the zone, the scarier it gets.

Another tip is to use your resource scanner while in the oak tree areas. It shows the exact locations of acorns on your map, saving you time spent wandering. Don’t worry if you think you’ve cleared out a region—new acorns respawn daily, so you can return to the same spots for more.

We hope these tips help make it easier for you to find acorns in Grounded 2.

As for whether Grounded 2 is worth buying, our early access review states, “Grounded 2 is a fun experience and one that is highly recommended if you liked the first game. Just be sure to grab a friend or two to help you with the survival and crafting elements, as many hands make light work.”
