Helldivers 2 PC Requirements Revealed, Supports Crossplay Between PS5 and PC

Helldrivers 2, the follow-up to the original PS4/PC title, will be released in a few weeks, and as such, PlayStation revealed a bit more information about the upcoming title, including the PC requirements and crossplay support.

I am digging into the PC requirements because I love doing so much, and the specs are alarming. We haven’t seen anything in terms of PC gameplay outside of what PlayStation has shown us, and seeing these specs does cause me to pause. Sure, the minimum requirements are tame, but as we move from recommended to performance to Ultra, we can see a bit of a jump for both the CPU and GPU.  There’s also a glance at the amount of storage required, sitting at 100GB. I’m beginning to wonder how optimized this game is going to be.

This game is a significant shift from Helldivers, which featured a top-down isometric view, and Helldivers 2, which now sports a 3rd personal perspective, similar to other shooters such as Destiny. Regardless of the requirements, I’m looking forward to seeing how this game plays, and I’m hoping that it pulls off the same great gameplay that the original game did.

Sadly, no other PC-specific stuff, such as Ultrawide screen support, is mentioned. I’m still holding out that we’ll get that ultra wide support when the game gets released.

Getting to the crossplay between the PS5 and PC, the game will require players to link their Steam account to the PlayStation network. For those not keeping score, both Spider-Man: Remastered and Spider-Man: Miles Morales also required this and offered some bonuses for doing so. That said, if this is a requirement, maybe we’ll finally be able to earn PlayStation trophies on the PC. Fingers crossed, folks.

Check out the Helldivers 2 PC requirements below.
