Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ Coming To Nintendo Switch In English For First Time

Hakuoki SSL ~ Sweet School Life ~ key art banner that includes all the characters in high school Japan

Those in the Otome space got a nice surprise at the Eastasiasoft Spring Showcase as Hakuoki SSL ~Sweet School Life~ had an announcement. Those who don’t know, Hakuoki is a series of Otome games that generally take place in the Edo period. It started back in 2008 on the PlayStation 2.

The interesting thing about this title of the Hakuoki series is that it is the one title that doesn’t take place in the Edo period. ~Sweet School Life ~ takes place in a modern-day high school in Japan. You still play as Chizuru Yukimura, trying to find her love interest. The love interest is among many famous warriors of the Shinsengumi. They are all brought in from the Edo period as well.

Physical copies will be available to pre-order through Playasia this Thursday, April 10th, at 11:00 pm Hong Kong time (11:00 am ET / 8:00 am PT / 4:00 pm UK). Only 2000 Limited Editions will be produced and will include the game, manual, soundtrack CD, art book, mini case, Joy-Con sticker set, acrylic character standees, and a numbered certificate in a collector’s box.

Hakuoki SSL ~ Sweet School Life ~ is coming in late 2025. Physical preorders open with Playasia this week!
