While Hades II has been available on PC for quite some time, things have been a bit different over in console land. The game was previously a timed exclusive console release for the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launched on September 25, 2025.
However, that exclusivity is coming to an end. As of April 14, 2026, Hades II will officially release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S, finally bringing the highly anticipated sequel to a wider console audience.
This release will also include all patches and previously released content, meaning players jumping in on these platforms will be getting the most complete version of the game right out of the gate.
As one of the most anticipated games of 2025, Hades II has continued to dominate conversations long after its initial release, with players still diving in and finding new reasons to keep playing. And honestly, that makes sense. As someone who thoroughly enjoyed the original, I fully expected to find myself just as engrossed in the follow-up, and I had been, while watching the game mature during its early access release on PC.
Still, I can’t decide if I think the follow-up is better than the first game, given that it does some things differently, and honestly I’m glad to see that SuperGiant Games didn’t toss in some stuff and call it Hades II. Regardless of how I feel, if you enjoyed the first game and haven’t played it yet, or have been waiting for it to be released on the PS5 or Xbox Series X|S, then you’ll get your chance very soon.
