PlayStation Drops Stunning New Ghost of Yōtei Trailer

By Jordan AndowSeptember 16, 2025

PlayStation has released a brand-new trailer for its upcoming Ghost of Yōtei, the sequel to Sucker Punch Productions Samurai epic Ghost of Tsushima. While this trailer clocks in at just a minute and a half long, but it is probably one of my personal favourite showings of the game so far.

You can check out the new Ghost of Yōtei trailer for yourselves below:

For such a short trailer the amount we see was a welcome surprise. From gameplay clips including all the various new weapons, to beautiful vistas and stunning cinematics. If you have seen nothing of Ghost of Yōtei so far, but want to watch one trailer to give you a sense of what the game is, I would highly recommend watching this one.

I’ve watched through a handful of times now and find new details with each additional viewing. However, what captured me (and somewhat concerned me) is just how similar to Ghost of Tsushima that Yōtei seems to be in this trailer. Don’t get me wrong, I was never expecting wholesale changes in a massively different game. Just considering there is a huge time jump in game between Tsushima and Yōtei, I expected more of a change to gameplay than “we have guns now”.

Of course, just like the rest of us I remain incredibly excited to see just how different Ghost of Yōtei is from its predecessor when I get my hands on the game. After all, Ghost of Yōtei is a follow-up to my favourite PlayStation first-party title in the last decade which means it has some shoes to fill.

Can it shine out of the shadow left by Ghost of Tsushima? You can find out for yourself when Ghost of Yōtei releases exclusively for PS5 and PS5 Pro, October 2nd, 2025.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
