Get Early Access to FBC: Firebreak in Remedy’s Upcoming Closed Technical Playtest

If you’re itching to dive into FBC: Firebreak, the upcoming multiplayer PVE title from Remedy Entertainment, you might get your chance a little early. Remedy has announced a closed technical playtest running from May 15 to May 19, 2025, across PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.

Here’s when it starts and ends:

  • Start: May 15 at 6 AM PDT / 9 AM EDT / 2 PM BST / 4 PM EEST
  • End: May 19 at 1:59 PM PDT / 4:59 PM EDT / 9:59 PM BST / 11:59 PM EEST

To sign up, head to firebreak.firstlook.gg. Just keep in mind that registering doesn’t guarantee access, so be sure to cross your fingers (and maybe your toes).

Set in the acclaimed Control universe, FBC: Firebreak is a session-based, multiplayer PvE experience built around imaginative, highly replayable missions with plenty of twists. Strategy and teamwork are essential, and Remedy plans to expand the game with post-launch content, and most importantly, FBC: Firebreak will support crossplay at launch.

From what we’ve seen, it looks like fun, and dare I say that it reminds me a lot of when I first laid my eyes on Left 4 Dead 1 and Left 4 Dead 2 all those years ago. Hell, if it plays as good, we’re all in for a treat.

And if you don’t get into the test, don’t worry, FBC: Firebreak officially launches on June 17, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Are you looking forward to FBC: Firebreak? Let us know in the comments!
