Geralt’s Voice Actor Calls “Woke” Critics of The Witcher 4 “Stupid”

Geralt’s Voice Actor Calls "Woke" Critics of The Witcher 4 "Stupid"

If you’ve been paying attention to the gaming world, you know that The Witcher 4 will have Ciri as the main character. She was already part of The Witcher 3, even as a playable character, but now she will take center stage.

Some players have reacted negatively to this, calling this game “woke”. These types of discussions have been spreading online, and even Doug Cockle, the voice actor for Geralt has shared his thoughts on the matter.

While reacting to The Witcher memes on the Fall Damage channel, Cockle said that anyone who thinks The Witcher 4 is “woke” because Ciri is the main character is simply stupid.

He explained that fans of The Witcher who think this way should “read the damn books”, which are the source material for the games. The works of Andrzej Sapkowski actually give Ciri a major role, including many scenes from her perspective.

After a trilogy of games focused on Geralt, Cockle believes we’ve already “seen the end of the witcher’s journey.” He celebrates Ciri and her role as the protagonist of The Witcher 4. He said, “if you read the books, then you understand why CD Projekt went down this avenue. There’s a whole world of stuff to explore with Ciri, that they didn’t do when they put her into Witcher 3, because the story was about Geralt. But she hints at it.”

In related news, Doug Cockle confirmed Geralt’s return in The Witcher 4, though he’s unsure of the exact role or how much he will be involved.
