Ironically, I had just written a piece questioning whether Valve’s Steam Deck was still viable in 2025. Well, Nvidia must have been listening, because the Titan has big news for Steam Deck owners. Back in May 2025, GeForce Now officially arrived on the Deck, but that was only the beginning of Nvidia’s support.
Now things are getting even better. The GeForce Now app will soon let Steam Deck owners push up to 90 frames per second, tap into RTX 5080 power, and enjoy 4K HDR content. And the wait won’t be long as these features start rolling out next month. All that, right in the palm of your hand.
Better yet, it doesn’t matter if you’re playing handheld or docked to a TV or monitor; the upgrade applies across the board. With GeForce Now, the Steam Deck suddenly looks a lot more future-proof. So, if you were thinking about picking up a Steam Deck and looking into the future, Nvidia has stepped up to keep the Steam Deck relevant for months, if not years, to come, assuming you sign up for the GeForce Now service.
