GeForce Now App Now Officially Available for the Steam Deck

By Keith MitchellMay 29, 2025
The GeForce NOW Native App for Steam Deck

During CES 2025, Nvidia dropped some news that made Steam Deck fans pretty happy: the company would finally be bringing its GeForce Now streaming service to the popular handheld. Since then, things have been quiet—until today. Nvidia has officially released a native GeForce Now app, and it’s now available for anyone using a Steam Deck or other handheld devices running SteamOS or Bazzite.

This native app means no more jumping through hoops or relying on workarounds to access GeForce Now. With this, Steam Deck users now have access to a wider library of games, including titles that were previously unavailable on the device for one reason or another. That includes games from the Epic Games Store, Battle.net, Xbox, and other storefronts, giving users access to thousands of additional games.

To download GeForce Now for the Steam Deck, head over to this page. There, you’ll find the file and directions needed to install and configure the application.

Even better, games that previously struggled to run well on the Steam Deck can now tap into Nvidia’s powerful server blades, which are equipped with RTX 5000 series GPUs. That means maxed-out settings, better visuals, and no worrying about draining the battery—an absolute game changer.

Of course, GeForce Now isn’t free, and you’ll need a subscription to take advantage of it. But for a smoother, higher-quality gaming experience on a handheld, it’s a small price to pay. As someone who has been using the cloud streaming service to play games on a woefully underpowered laptop for when I don’t have access to my beefy boi PC, it’s been amazing to see just how far GeForce Now has come since the service came online so many years ago.

It’s nice to see this finally happen, as I definitely feel this is going to help handheld PC gaming take off even more than it already was.
