FromSoftware Promises Big Solo Fixes in Upcoming Elden Ring Nightreign Patch 1.02

Elden Ring Nightreign has officially launched, and FromSoftware isn’t wasting any time lining up updates, as it has announced via Twitter that Patch 1.02 is on the way, bringing several bug fixes and some welcome improvements for solo players.

Nightfarers,
Thank you for playing #ELDENRING #NIGHTREIGN.
Next week, Patch 1.02 will be released, and will include several bug fixes as well as improvements for solo expeditions.
Further details will be provided next week.

One of the standout additions in this patch is the Automatic Revival Upon Defeat effect, which will activate once per Night Boss battle during solo expeditions. This gives lone adventurers a second shot without needing a co-op team to revive them. On top of that, the amount of runes earned in solo play will be increased, helping players level up more efficiently and strike a better balance between upgrading gear and stats.

As someone who’s taken on the Nightlords solo, these changes are a big deal. The automatic revival could easily turn the tide of a fight, and the rune boost helps ease the grind that comes with doing everything on your own.

It’s great to see FromSoftware listening to early feedback. Many of us who reviewed the game pointed out the solo experience needed tuning, and this quick turnaround shows they’re serious about supporting Nightreign long-term.

Elden Ring Nightreign is now available on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam). Be sure to check out our full review, where we call it an enjoyable experience held back by a few odd design choices. Still, if you’re a fan of Elden Ring, you’ll feel right at home.
