Football Manager 26 Finally Gets A Release Date

After months of speculation and fears of another Football Manager cancellation from the community. Sports Interactive have finally revealed the release date for Football Manager 26 (FM26), which is set to release on November 4th, 2025.

This released announcement was actually spoiled by the FM26 Steam page being updated too soon. Initially, I thought it might have been a mistake or placeholder date as we have seen many times in the past. However, not too long after the Steam page update the Football Manager social media accounts posted this official update:

Legacy, redefined.#FM26 – out from Nov 4. Pre-purchase NOW on PC/Mac.

Experience the future of football management.

— Football Manager (@FootballManager) September 10, 2025

That’s right! Football Manager 26 is available for pre-purchase on PC and Mac right now. News of the release date was also accompained by our first look at the new unreal engine 5 powered UI, following a glimpse of the match day engine that was shown across social media on September 4th, 2025.

I will have a separate article on the UI design and my thoughts about it coming soon but for now you can check it out for yourself on the Football Manager Website.

Despite being on a whole new engine, technology that converts your saved games to the new format means that FM26, FM26 Console and FM26 Touch will all launch with save game compatibility for Football Manager 2024 and Football Manager 2023.

Football Manager 26 will release on November 4th, 2025, also launching day one is Football Manager 26 Console, which brings the new era of football management to players on Xbox and PlayStation 5. FM26 Console (Xbox), as well as FM26 (PC/Mac), will both be available via Xbox Game Pass.

Football Manager 26 Touch is returning to Nintendo Switch for an eighth season, launching digitally only on the later date of December 4th, 2025.

Football Manager 26 Mobile also launches on November 4 as a Netflix exclusive. Combining a retro feel with bespoke new features, FM26 Mobile is the only title in the suite not switching to Unity at this time.

Jordan has been playing games since the age of six. This ignited a passion which initially led him towards game development before trying his hand in the realm of games media, starting in 2022. It turns out he's quite good at it, even if he doesn't always believe in himself. Now, just a few short years later, not only is Jordan a valued member of our staff here at The Outerhaven, but he also co-owns and helps to run Analog Stick Gaming.
