First trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 coming next month

Rockstar Games’s President, Sam Houser, has announced via Twitter/X that it will showcase a trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto game in early December 2023. This means it could be revealed during the 2023 The Game Awards, which takes place on December 7, 2023, from 4:30 PM PST / 7:30 PM EST – 8 PM PST / 11:00 PM EST. There’s no guarantee that this will be the case, and Rockstar Games could release it before the upcoming gaming event.

This is the moment that Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online fans have been waiting for. There have been many rumors that Rockstar Games had already started developing Grand Theft Auto 6. Still, the studio had also experienced several issues, from the departure of the co-founder and former vice president of creativity for Rockstar GamesDan Houser, back in 2020, to the poor reception of its remastered Grand Theft Auto trilogy.

Next month marks the 25th anniversary of Rockstar Games. Thanks to the incredible support of our players worldwide, we have had the opportunity to create games we are truly passionate about.

In 1998, Rockstar Games was founded on the idea that video games could come to be as essential to culture as any other form of entertainment, and we hope that we have created games you love in our efforts to be part of that evolution.

We are very excited to let you know that in early December, we will release the first trailer for the next Grand Theft Auto. We look forward to many more years of sharing these experiences with all of you.

Thank you,
Sam Houser

For years, fans have been playing Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online and have been asking for the chapter of the series. Since both games were released in September 2013, this announcement has been ten years in the making. Still, both games have had quite the run, and during 2020, it was revealed that GTA5 had sold over 130 million copies — and that was three years ago!

However, an announcement is one thing. Unless Rockstar Games comes out and states that they’ve been developing the game for the past few years, it could be quite some time before anyone can get their hands on it.

We’ll find out what Rockstar Games has in store in less than three weeks – hold your suspense!
